Well...that month flew by....

Hi all...

January has come and gone and I didn't write a single post.  Whoops.  Sorry.  We have been a little busy over here in baby land.  I feel that so many events deserve their own blog post but when it comes to taking the time to actually write, I choose sleep instead.  So, here is a recap of the month!

Christmas...We saw family!  Shocking!  :) We spent Christmas Eve at Grandpa Bob's house.  It was fun to spend time out there with Bob and Lisa as well as Amanda, Dustin, and their beautiful little girls.  We traveled back into town for church and went to a fabulous service at Peace UCC.  We sang Beatles songs, waved glow sticks, and watched a beautiful video reenacting Christ's birth.  It was a memorable.  :)  We were at home on Christmas day and Nana Val came over to visit us too!  A fun relaxing day!  I even got a nap!

On the 26th, we went back out to Bob and Lisa's for a big family gathering.  Reed and I left early and embarked on the journey to Newfolden to visit my family.  We stopped in the cities to pick up Andy and Maggie and continued the trek.  It was a great few days of visiting family and friends...and Reed was, of course, the center of attention!

Bennie and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on the 30th!  We marked the day with Reed's baptism with a small ceremony.  It was a beautiful evening and a really touching celebration of Reed's journey as a child of God.

We celebrated Christmas/New Year's Eve with my immediate family (Mom, Dad, Andy, Maggie, Josh, Misty, Bennie, Reed, and me) on the 31st.  It was a fun day filled with opening gifts, playing games, relaxing, a quick trip to Hobby Lobby, a campfire, and yummy food!  We were also glad to have Maggie's dad, Gary, celebrate with us!  We have spent the past three New Year's Eve holidays with Gary and it is truly a blast!  He even got to try some of our wedding cake when we celebrated our first wedding anniversary a few years ago!

January has been a busy month...

* We brought Reed to the mall for the first time! :)

*  Reed got a slight case of pink eye but quickly went away within a few days.

* We traveled to Bemidji to visit my brother Josh and Misty for a weekend.  We had a great time hanging out with them.  The highlight of the trip for me was shopping in downtown Bemidji with Misty, my Mom, and Reed.  Bennie's highlight was ice fishing with Josh and my Dad!

* Bennie and I both got slammed by this crazy ear/nose/throat infection/cough mid January.  I am still struggling to stay healthy but Bennie is 100%.  Reed wasn't fazed at all...a true tribute to the immunities he is getting from breast milk AND the SUPER DUPER INSANELY expensive RSV immunization that Reed received in December.  It is only effective for one month and Reed is supposed to get five doses..... let's just say that this mom is getting ready to put on her boxing gloves and battle insurance.

* Reed totally and completely found his hands (after lots of glances at them) on the way home from Bemidji. And, within two days, he was grabbing for everything within his reach! :)  It was fun to see him reach this developmental milestone as we were working on it for awhile!  I am constantly reminding myself of adjusting Reed's age by 7 weeks (for his prematurity) when thinking of developmental milestones.

* Reed has a great belly laugh!  It is absolutely adorable!  He loves to show it off when we make funny noises and funny faces!

*  Reed has rolled over a few times from tummy to back .

*  Reed is starting to find his feet...especially when he is wearing shoes and funny footie pajamas.

*  Reed loves to read, sing songs, look in the mirror, and he talks and smiles non-stop!

* Reed turned 5 months old on January 26th.  Crazy.

Here's hoping I write again before the end of February!

Love to you all!

Sarah  (& Bennie and Reed)
